New Delhi. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh came on social media to say that rather than celebrating his birthday this year, he wished for a fast paced solution for the conflict ongoing between the farmers and the government.
He distanced himself from his father’s statement wherein his father backed sports persons who would agree to return their awards if agriculture law wasn’t paid any heed.
“Birthdays are an opportunity to fulfil a wish or desire and this birthday, rather than celebrating, I only wish and pray for a swift resolution of the ongoing talks between our farmers and our government” Yuvraj Singh posted on Twitter on his birthday.
Boxer Vijender Singh joined the farmers’ agitation at the Singhu border (Haryana-Delhi border), on Sunday, and had said that he would return his Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award if the new agriculture laws are not withdrawn.
