Two women who underwent caesarean sections at Rajasthan’s District Women’s Hospital in Bundi later died at separate private hospitals in Kota after developing complications, according to reports published on September 18–19.
The hospital operating theatre has been sealed for sampling, culture testing, sterilisation and infection-control work. The gynaecologist involved was relieved from current duties and placed under awaiting-posting orders.
A three-member inquiry headed by the Bundi Sub-Divisional Magistrate is investigating. Authorities have not established a common cause, infection or medical negligence, and this report does not make such a finding.
