Assembly bye-election in Rajasthan:All three BJP candidates declared; Tickets from Rajsamand to Deepti Maheshwari, Sahada to Ratanlal Jat and Sujangarh to Khemaram Meghwal

The BJP has declared its candidates for the bye-elections to the three assembly constituencies. The BJP has given tickets to Deepti Maheshwari from Rajsamand, Dr Ratanlal Jat from Sahada and Khemaram Meghwal from Sujangarh. The candidates were announced after the BJP parliamentary board’s approval late in the evening.

The daughter deepti Maheshwari of late MLA Kiran Maheshwari from Rajsamand has been made a candidate. As glistening, the BJP has given a chance to the new face. Former MLA from Sahada seat and former chairman of Seed Corporation Dr. Ratanlal Jat has been fielded. Ratallal is an old leader and is considered to be a grip in local activists. In Sahada, the BJP had already decided to unload the Jat candidate. Former minister khemaram Meghwal has been fielded from Sujangarh, Khemaram Meghwal has been a minister in the first term of former CM Vasundhara Raje.

Two out of three candidates have worked with former CM Vasundhara Raje

The impact of factionalism and pulls in the BJP was a discussion of the candidate’s selection, but it did not happen. Despite differences between former CM Vasundhara Raje and the current state leadership, the BJP has tried to build a consensus in the candidate selection. Two of the three candidates have worked with Vasundhara Raje. Khemaram Meghwal was the mines minister during Vasundhara Raje’s first term while Dr. Ratanlal Jat was the chairman of the Seed Corporation at that time. Deepti Maheshwari, a candidate from Rajsamand, was a minister in the cabinet of Kiran Maheshwari Raje.

The BJP has shown a mix approach in the candidate selection. In Rajsamand, the daughter of late MLA Kiran Maheshwari has been taken to the fray and played a sympathy card. It will be a challenge to persuade the camp of leader of the opposition Gulbachananda Kataria. Both the candidates who were fielded in Sujangarh and Sahada have been the first MLAs and ministers.
