NEW DELHI. The new parliament building will have a life of more than 150 years and has 150% increased seating capacity, said the Central Govt on Thursday. While the Rajya Sabha will have the theme of the national flower lotus, the Lok Sabha will have peacock, the national bird, as its theme.
The triangular building, besides the two houses, will have a Costitution hall that will showcase an original constitution and a digital form for people to read page by page. This portion will be the only one in the building with no storeys.
The rest part has four floors, each having rooms for ministers and committee rooms. The first floor will have a dining room for the Parliament, VVIPs and visitors. The government said the new parliament building is a necessity in the 21st century.
